GF caught up with Good Charlotte's lead guitarist Benji at his home in
Wahington DC, before he and twin bro Joel head Down Under for a promo tour.
Question - Whats been happening over there in the US?
Benji -We were on tour and now we get three days off. I'm just hanging out with my
dog.
Question -Are you excited about coming to Australia?
Benji -Yeah, i cant wait. I love the bands from down there.
Question - Which ones?
Benji -The Living End, silverchair and that new country singer Kasey Chambers. I
got to meet her the other night in DC. She's really hot.
Question -Is she your kind of girl?
Benji -I dont know- i guess i'm a sucker for the Australian accent. I love it, its
so hot! Aussie accents are my favourite. The way Australians speak, i'm like
ahhhh. I could listen to Australian people talk forever.
Question - What do you look for in a girl?
Benji - They definately have to laugh, but i dont want some comedian. I guess i
look for a girl who i can just laugh with, thats important . And good
conversation.
Question - Are you single?
Benji -I am single. You know what? That part of my life is just really
frustrating, i have not gone out on a date in like so long. I've been on
tour and busy playing shows. Girls automatically think i've got heaps of
dates lined up or somthing.
Question - So, girls dont even approach you?
Benji -Yeah. Its frustrating because i can be shy. I'll definately talk to girls,
but i hate it when i see guys hitting on girls. I just think its so annoying
and cheesy.
Question -What would you say to a girl who was intimidated by you being a star?
Benji -We're regular guys, so just come up and talk to us.
Question - Just say you've met a girl, what would be your first ideal date?
Benji -The best part of the whole date would be definately to go to, like a late
night coffee shop or somthing, and end up talking for hours. Thats the best,
where i've just met someone and we end up talking up for , like four hours.
Question - What were you like when you were a teenager?
Benji -When i was 17 i was sort of a punk.My dad left when i was about 16 and
around the age of 17 i was really angry about that. I was sort of figuring
things out.
Question - If you swapped places with one musician for a night, who would you be?
Benji -Probably one of the guys in Oasis or Green Day. Or i'd be Brtiney Spears.
Question - Oh?
Benji - No, i'm kidding. I'd be Marilyn Manson, to wear all that make-up.
